  • The red siskins are not out on exhibit yet, they are BTS. There is a plan for where they're going but another animal move has to happen before they can be put out. I don't want to say where in case the plan changes.
  • Bird's World Room 1 (Swamp) is correct except for the turtle isn't currently on exhibit. There also used to be a Black crake, but I don't know if it's still there.
  • Bird's World Room 4 (Riverbank) also has Beautiful fruit dove and Red-crested finch.
  • For Tropical Forest
    • There are no Bearded Barbets, Guineafowl or Hartlaub's ducks (those species haven't been there since at least 2020)
    • The Scarlet Ibis were moved to Stone Zoo a few years ago and the Red-crested Turaco were moved to Bird's World (Rainforest/Room 2)
    • The bats can usually be seen hanging on the ceiling above the Hippo exhibits, but they are currently BTS while work is being done on the roof area
    • I don't think there are any more Yellow-rumped Cacique, but they may be bringing more in
    • There were plans to bring in a Red-and-yellow barbet, but unsure if this has happened yet

  • What turtle species is in Room 2?
  • The finch signage was removed recently (I think they were down to one individual)
  • The scarlet ibis and turacos was there in January

  • Overall, are there any other unsigned species in the zoo or not mentioned plans for new species?

Where is Hoofstock Yards? Is it next to Kalahari Kingdom and African Experience or is it closer to Pine Knoll? Also, where is the Rock Garden? How much space is available behind Bird's World and Outback Trail?
 
A couple more questions regarding the size of places;
  • How much usable space is behind Bird's World?
  • How much usable space is in Hoofstock Yards?
  • Are there any major species that the Zoo keeps only behind the scenes?

there is a decent amount of space behind birds world that has in the past been used as a temporary dinosaur themed area. For the hoofstock yards there’s not as much space as behind birds world but still a decent amount of space. For behind the scene species I would say not really besides from keeping some animals behind scene when others are out like rotating the tapirs.

Any specific size amounts/estimates? What about the rock garden? Where is the rock garden? So, there isn't any major NEW species that you wouldn't see on exhibit (other than the siskins)

i don’t know about exact sizes but the rock garden is located directly behind the tropical rainforest building and yeah there’s not really anything new going on at the moment connecting to new animals.
 
Area behind Bird World is a concrete pond shell with some area they use for seasonal exhibits surrounding the pond. The rest of the area has maintenance yards, horticulture yards, storage, hospital and more. Its ooerations are for the zoo with a road leading from one entrance to another for employees.

Rock Gardn is right outside tropical forest exit towards pine knoll and the small castle.

Newst animals are siskins and clouded leopard.

Area and pond behind bird world in red
you can see the driving lane, storage areas in the photo
for a large zoo, lots of space is not accessable or in disrepair

On January 1st, the zoo announced that a red-crested turaco hatched on November 1st which is on display in the Tropical House.

On May 1st, the zoo announced that another black-tailed prairie dog was born which is now on exhibit.

On May 13th, it was reported that a tree branch fell and caused serious injuries to a child as well as injuries to an adult, who were both sent to a local hospital.

On May 29th, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) cotton-top tamarin named Rosa which is now on display in the Tropical Forest building.
