From the perspective of people from overseas, what are the rare creatures in Japanese zoos?

Are false killer whales really that rare?
Many relatively common cetaceans in Japan are really rare outside of this country. In Europe practically all the Parks with cetaceans have bottlenose dolphins, some have killer whales, belugas or porpoises, but not much else, and the tendency is for cetaceans to disappear in captivity. In the USA there are some more species, but not many, and it seems that the trend is the same. On the other hand, in Japan and throughout Asia it is accepted to keep all kinds of cetaceans in aquariums, these animals continue to be captured (and killed for food and trade)... It's curious that in Japan this is not given much importance. On my trip a few months ago I was able to see false killer whales in 3 different aquariums, a specie that does not exist in captivity in Europe, and probably exists in more japaneses Parks.
