After looking into one or two galleries I have noticed that there are quite a few funny signs that if you read quickly look very strange latest one I saw was at my locasl zoo (Dudley) they now have a Lions and Lemur walk through
I was wondring what you have senn around zoos that at first look to very strange and funny (I have put my latest image in the Dudley Gallery).
Lets share them with the rest of members on here and have a bit of fun instead of some of the more serious threads

At one time it was common to see 'these animals bite' attached to the fence around something like a Tiger. Of course it 'bites', it's a Tiger. I suppose that, without such signs, people could claim compensation when they get their silly heads bitten off, on the grounds that they didn't know the thing was dangerous. I remember a very personable lady in a pub asking if I 'went in with the lions'. My response was 'have you SEEN a lion?'

At Chester there used to be a certain angle with the Squirrel Climb(Near the Ark Restaurant) where if you looked at it it had the sign for the Squirrel Climb and yet on the fence in front of it a Do Not Climb sign. May have just been me but I got confusing messages's from that lol.

Also at Chester in the 1980s the gardeners were still cutting the grass on one of the picnic lawns shortly after opening time.

There was a sign saying 'Picnic Lawn' and next to it a second sign saying 'Please Keep off The Grass.'

I never took a photo and I've regretted it ever since.

I seem to remember seeing a "Do not feed the Ducks" Sign at Blue Planet Aquarium... Just to the side, there was a small machine giving out food to feed to the ducks. :D

Im sure I have pictures, will try to find them.

I like a photo that Bongorob posted describing 'zoo builders' for the old chimp house at Chester.

Another is the wonderful sign on the fence of the elephant enclosure at Chester, a man lying on the floor with a fully grown elephant essentially stamping on his crotch
