I think snowleopards trek around the U.S should fill in a few blanks there.

I think the Bronx Zoo gallery needs some photos in as well, but snowleopard may decide to fill in the gallery of one of the world's best zoos ;)

I have a few gorge ones that I can upload too.

I just uploaded photos into Landon Creek Bird Sanctuary gallery; and moved one photo into Aquaria (KLCC) from Asia other zoos (and I've got some others I'll upload later). I've got more from Siam Ocean World in Bangkok too, if you want to make a gallery for that

excellent :D I've moved one in there now and will upload new ones tomorrow

@Sim: at least a dozen of the zoos that you listed will have photos added by me after my epic road trip is done. It takes hours to upload to the gallery, and so I don't have a lot of time right now. Towards the end of August I will be pumping hundreds of new photos into empty slots, and I'm actually rather excited to be able to show off all the cool pics that my wife has taken on this trip.

I'm trialing an FTP upload option now which might really speed things up ... although if I do this, I'm going to have to make sure I have enough disk space on my server!!!

Altina is huge 1500 acres its extremely busy now with bus groups & cars everywhere. They have quadroupled numbers from last year alone and are an excellent breeding facility. Yes they do still need you to book to visit but it is aiming to open to the front eventually.

They are currently working on building their lion enclosure as well as expecting zebra to arrive early next year... (lots of delays on getting zebra because Mogo Zoo have been busy and had to upgrade their yards for loading)

They only have 8 staff!

They all do tours with half the staff specialisinng in building & maintenance & the other half specialising in animals etc.

They dont allow people to walk around but can you understand how things work. They would need to build stand off barriers, Toilet facilities everywhere, drink & food stands etc. Plus the horse drawn cart makes them differnt and does not disturb the animals. People dont have comon sence these days throwing things into the enclosures, putting fingers through the mesh running & screaming. I presonally feel with this not happening this allows the animals to breed happily (Very well at that) and prevents from unneccassary stress & injury.

All animals are in excellent health! The enclosures are huge! And the animals are fed in front of the tours so when the horse drawn carts, full of people, pull up, they are all eating out of their troughs up close & personal. Plus the tour guide, driving the horse & cart, explains what they know about the animals & personal behaviours they have witnessed (this you barely get from any other zoo).

I give Altina a huge thumbs up its a new type of zoo!

Stuff walking around the zoo and sticking your camera through the fence... how about the animals health & safety? This Zoo is all about the animals while still presenting a unique zoo experience!
