Alligator gars are being reintroduced into part of their range in the Mississippi River where they were extirpated in the 20th century. Some people are hoping that they can help control rampant invasive carp.

Well that's a good thing. Maybe if the hadn't extirpated alligator far in the first place they could have eradicated them before they got to the numbers they are at now
