The wildlife centre is currently running a Go Fund Me page towards new homes for the Capuchin monkeys and reptile. Also they intend to build a Tropical House which will provide new homes or the Marmosets, Snakes, Lizards and Tortoise.

A male Weeper Capuchin is now onshow (only one in the UK)

And to think I travelled all the way to Zoo Berlin to see the species :P yet another reason why a return visit is overdue.

Nice, Any idea where it's come from? Seems an unlikely species to have been knocking around in the UK pet trade (where quite a bit of Gentleshaw's stock's from) given their general scarcity on the European zoo scene.

The sign says he was seized from the British pet trade after the (now former) owner attempted to take him on the London underground. The plan is to eventually integrate him with the centres two resident Tufted Capuchins

Thanks. The mind boggles (as to how the former owner got it in the first place and them taking a seriously illegal animal on the underground).

That has got to be the weirdest explanation of an animal arriving on the scene for ages, too bizarre for words! :D

The last Weeper capuchin I saw was at Southport Zoo in 1994.
Anyone else ??

Not mentioned on zootierliste but Gentleshaw have a single white-necked raven on-show by the raccoons.
