Opel Zoo Kronberg Georg von Opel Zoo

Does anyone have photos of the new lemur complex? I've seen images on Facebook and the structure resembles a large walk-through aviary. Ring-tailed and Red Ruffed Lemurs are the inhabitants and it opened this past summer. The zoo's map indicates that the new lemur exhibit is located across from the flamingo pool.

I have uploaded some photos to the gallery. The enclosure is build on the grounds of the former Hippo building and basin. A small group of white-faced whistling ducks lives with the lemurs.

Nineteen common hamsters bred at Opel Zoo have been reintroduced to the wild in Germany. They were born last year and spent the winter at Zoo Osnabruck and Zoo Frankfurt before being released in two specially-chosen locations. This follows the reintroduction of twenty-seven hamsters last summer.

Information comes from the EAZA Facebook page.
