The young recently has gotten a name: Tikoa.
From the zoos Instagram:
"Numerous schools in the region of Aquidauana, Brazil cast over 3,000 votes for a name and the winner is... Tikoa! Meaning "giant anteater" in their indigenous language."

Yes, I think so. In fact, I believe it is the first ever giant anteater in Italy.
A new holder for the giant anteater! Female Ebeni has moved from Cologne Zoo to Kaunas Zoo in Lithuania. Next year, a male will move to Kaunas Zoo from Bursa Zoo in Turkey to form a breeding pair.

Last Sunday (17th) 4-year old female Lyra gave birth to her second young in Dudley Zoo. The father is 6-year old male Bubbles.

A few weeks ago, a young giant anteater female arrived at Parco Natura Viva from Zoo Madrid. She will form a pair with the male who arrived last year.

Giant anteater male Inca has moved from Zoo Zürich to Tierpark Hellabrunn. Zürich has now temporarily no giant anteaters. Inca is expected to move back to Zürich when the new Pantanal aviary there is completed in 2028.

In September 17-year old female giant anteater Hula was euthanised, she suffered from age related health problems. She arrived from Zoo Zürich in 2009, she was the last giant anteater in Hamerton.
