Least they've potentially got another crowd drawing creature out of it! I know i wouldn't mind seeing that monster :D
 
My question is how would it have got there in the first place?
 
Bristle worms (and other nasties) arrive as very young animals imported on live rock. When they are tiny they can easily hide in small cracks. Then they grow . . .

As they say on the Blue Reef website, almost certainly on the living rock (rock colonised with various invertebrates that is almost always used when making reef tanks). It's a very good way of getting exciting things into a reef tank!
 
For those interested, I saw Barry on Saturday. He's a big ragworm but only big by ragworm standards! He's in the breeding tanks towards the end of the tour and labelled as Eunice sp. Will try to add a pic later.

I dunno, a whole swarm could be quite impressive!

Nice picture far better than the ones i`ve got of him,also i didn`t even realise that his head was on view!!!!!!!!!
