Gibbon Taxonomy

my main interest is seeing what the species are that have been split, and wondering if there are any illustrations/notes highlighting the differences between species and subspecies of certain animals, so in short a mix
for species list have a look on this thread: Ungulate Taxonomy by Colin Groves and Peter Grubb - BirdForum
for pictures, probably the HMW 2 would be more the book for you

I really would love to see this book, but I can't justify paying over £100 for a book that I can't even look in before buying - I like to be able to look at a few pages of a book like that.

Whilst not a cheap book the excellent "Ungulate Taxonomy" (Groves & Grubb) does not cost over £100; a copy costs around £50.

Thanks :) - my main interest is seeing what the species are that have been split, and wondering if there are any illustrations/notes highlighting the differences between species and subspecies of certain animals, so in short a mix :)

This book has no illustrations.

Apologies, I'm getting confused between two books :o - I though Ungulate Taxonomy was just another name or a shorter/easier name for Handbook of Mammals of the World Volume 2, as it's by the same taxonomist on the same subject - it is the HMW volumes I'm interested in seeing. My apologies :p
