I think it's the western subspecies with the black nose, which is present in much of the captive population. However, a quick Google search reveals animals in both Europe and the US with white noses as well. Not sure if that definitely means the captive population consists of subspecies hybrids, but that's what I treat them as.

I will split this into two posts, one for the remaining Florida facilities and one for the others I found. I know this may look spammy, but I was researching on my own for the Anteaters, Armadillos, and Sloths list that I have a lot of and I came across a bunch of information for facilities that weren't mentioned here. To make it easier for @IndianRhino, any primates that I don't know the species of will be highlighted in bold, and primates that can only be found by looking at the website/news sources will be underlined.

@Smaggledagle first of all, I just want to say I appreciate the effort you have put into these posts but the truth is there are tons and tons of zoos out there with species like ring-tailed lemur and it's not very feasible for me to find, and verify each and every one. For that reason, I am not really looking to include a bunch of random, tiny roadside facilities (unless they have a notable collection/species, of course) and I am tweaking my current list to better reflect that as well. To be fair, I will try and go through what you have posted here at some point and will include what I see fit.

Also, I would really appreciate it if the links you post go directly to the post you are referring to because some of them just go to the zoo's general fb page which isn't very helpful. I also don't mean to be rude here but frankly, I do not see the point in posting these very long lists of links when a good amount of these fb posts are 1) already a couple years old and 2) from random smaller facilities that very few if any zoochatters are ever going to visit.

Perhaps only focusing on AZA facilities would be best?

There's a LOT of private owners for smaller species like Lemurs and it would be virtually impossible to determine which facilities hold what and on top of that, keep track of that too. It would be a nightmare, and probably not something most of us are interested in too.

No reason for anyone to ask my opinion, but I think an AZA focus sounds prudent, and if a non-accredited facility is the only holder for something it might be worth mentioning for those who are species-fixated.

Well, not exactly. There are a lot of sizeable facilities around that are non-AZA that it would be silly to exclude such as Wildlife World, Metro Richmond, etc. Not to mention you'd lose probably about a third of the current species count.

This is hitting the nail on the head, and I voiced this same issue in one of my threads just recently. Ultimately, for most of this type of thread, they were never intended to be catch-alls. They were to cover AZAs and the notable other facilities, along with whatever local places people happened to visit and add in. There was no intention of tracking down every shoddy little place that owns a Ring-tailed Lemur or Red-tailed Hawk, we neither have time or interest for that. These long posts with links are both not particularly helpful nor do they make navigating the thread easy, besides frequently being outside the average scope of the thread. Tracking and monitoring all the tiny places would be an absolute nightmare and there lies the reason most of us haven't dug that deep. The routine posting of all these links and long lists of places that most or all of the community has never visited and sometimes have never heard of is both frustrating and rather unhelpful to the threads at this point.

Thank you for acknowledging how much time I use to do this. I would also like to say that a lot of this is fair criticism, like including only facilities that have a more unique touch instead of adding everything. I would like to respond to the 2nd paragraph though.

1. I am checking the Facebook issue right now and the only facility that is currently down is Alligator Adventure & Wildlife Learning Center in Florida. When I wanna go on the link I usually right-click on the link and go to the "Open link in new tab" option. I do not know if just clicking on the link is the problem or if it's a browser problem (I am on Brave) because, besides that one facility, everything else works.

2. The timeframe of posts I used was from January 2021-present time. Maybe I should have used January 2022 to the present to keep things more accurate. To respond to the other point, there were a lot of random facilities on the list, to begin with (Timber Creek Petting Farm in Michigan, Topsy Exotic Ranch in Texas, Bear Creek Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary in Ontario, etc.) so I don't understand the problem of adding more facilities, unless there is a problem verifying all of them.

Having tested on a couple different browsers, some of them work better than others. One got me most direct links, others mostly just took me to the main page.

Continued verification is an issue. List bulk and the time it takes to run through and post is also an issue. Just because it exists doesn't mean it's necessary.

When you wrote "subspecies," did you mean "species" or am I missing something?

There aren't just no more yellow baboons in the country, but in all of North America. I do know that in 2020, the Greater Vancouver Zoo got rid of a big family troop of like 8 or 10 individuals, and they were the last of their kind in North America (for now).

A few updates I can offer: Riverbanks no longer has Diana monkeys as of a few months ago.

Per their own signage, Brights indicates that their colobus are actually mantled guereza and their night monkey is Azara’s. No idea if this is accurate, as they had several obvious signage issues. They also have golden-headed lion tamarin (signed as “golden lion tamarin”, reinforcing my last point) and red-faced spider monkey.

Mantled Guereza is actually just another name for Black & White Colobus

. Glad to see more zoos getting Red-Faced Spider Monkeys, though!

Sure, but the OP lists them as having Angolan colobus, which is what I was referring to. Agreed on the spider monkeys though, I was surprised to see them but even more surprised to see just how rare they were per this thread.

I am not entirely sure if this has been mentioned, Indianapolis no longer has Ring-Tailed Lemurs. They do have Lar Gibbon, and I’m not sure if it counts but they have a troop of lemurs behind the scenes

I don't think there are any golden lion tamarins at the Toledo Zoo. I didn't see golden-headed lion tamarins when there. The building was closed but there should be red ruffed lemurs at that zoo.

The Minnesota Zoo is no longer a holder of silver leaf monkeys.

Rainforest Adventures doesn't have red-handed tamarins any more.
