On June 17th, it was announced that (0.2) Galapagos giant tortoises named Ynez and Soledad have been transferred to the Sedgewick County Zoo in Kansas.
Also on August 17th, the zoo announced that they have hatched (0.0.6) Mangshan pit vipers. This is the first time the species has been hatched at the facility, and the third facility to hatch them in the United States.
On January 4th, it was announced that a (1.0) Orinoco crocodile named Hugo was transferred to Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Missouri.
On September 9th, the zoo announced that (0.0.2) violaceous turacos were hatched on August 23rd and September 6th respectively. This is the first time the facility has successfully bred this species.
A master plan for the next 10 years was unveiled. Some of the highlight projects include a new lion habitat, a nocturnal house, a restaurant, and even expanding the Zoo’s property.
On January 17th, the zoo announced that (0.0.5) stingrays (species not specified) passed away unexpectedly on January 16th. The cause of death is unknown.
On January 24th, the zoo announced that (0.0.2) dama gazelles were born on September 3rd, 2022, and November 12th, 2022, respectively which are both now on exhibit.
