The intelligence services of the U.S. government put out a document assessing what the world will look like in 2030. One possibility is that many of the world's countries will have a majority of middle class people. Could such stability mean possible good news for wildlife and ecosystem conservation?

Of course, as the report also indicates, many things could go wrong and the planet could be a living hell.
