Has anyone recently been to the bronx zoo? Where are the cheetahs...i went today and where the cheetahs use to be the ostrichs were there; where did the cheetahs go?? Also, how many baby gorilla's are there in the exhibit? I counted at least 4 babies, and i saw about possibly 2 pregnant female gorilla's. is that correct? Does anyone know of any new expensions or exhibits that will be taking place at the bronx zoo in the near future? If someone can answer this for me that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Bronx Zoo Gorilla and cheetahs

I was at the Bronx Zoo last month and now that you mention it don't recall seeing any cheetahs anywhere, even though they are listed at the zoo. As far as the gorillas are concerned, who knows how many babies there are? No one seems to know if they have 20, or 22, or 24 gorillas as the numbers are changing all the time. Since the terrific Madagascar renovation the Bronx hasn't issued any formal, public statement detailing what will be the next major exhibit improvement.

Certainly the intent was to have both out together, and I believe that is usually the case.

I second this! The zoo map no longer even has them listed on them. The cheetahs, that is.
Do you know how many of them are normally together? I'm presuming this large number is divided into two or more groups- or are they altogether in one big group?
DeBrazza's + Mandrills
The two were originally housed together with the red river hogs (they were on my last visit in 2003). The only change that I am aware of to the original plan is that the male mandrill did not get on well with the hogs, and so (the last time I saw the exhibit ... a few years ago now), he was off exhibit while the hogs were out. Since they now only have 1.1 mandrills, I'm not sure if they've have to rejiggle how the animals work in the exhibit. I always found the DeBrazza's to excel in hiding within the exhibit (so they may have been in the mix), or if they were not working out, they may have moved them all over to the gorilla hillside exhibit.
Cheetahs
The last male passed away at the beginning of this year; based on the most recent ISIS records, there are now no cheetahs left at the Bronx Zoo.
Gorillas
There are two gorilla exhibits within Congo, subdivided in such a way as to make the division difficult to see. Each exhibit has a resident troop, and there may be some splinter groups off exhibit.
