I am not aware that the Stuttgart baby groups shall be closed completely, but I think you have better connections to know whats going on within the EEP, lol. I know that the dutch zoos are against the way the orphans are brought up in Stuttgart and since the EEP coordinator is now from Apenheul, I guess he is trying to close the nursery or at least reduce the number of gorilla infants which end up there. There are some encouraging signs that in the future, less and less infants will go there - recently 2 zoos followed the lead of La Valle des Singes and raised their rejected gorilla babys themselves with the intention to reintegrate them into their birth group (Heidelberg and Kolmarden), and the biggest "producer" for gorilla orphans, Barcelona Zoo, has now teached the females to present the babys for bottlefeeding at the fence so that the last 2 babys could stay with their mothers.
