I have no Gorilla photographs in my collection as yet so am looking for help in finding the best enclosure for taking photographs of gorillas and while I am on the subject what would you say was the best zoo and enclosure inside and out for Gorillas

Best for photography is probably still Twycross, through glass- the outsides only though. Indoor areas too dark for good photography.

Bristol and London both offer good views outside, Bristol entirely over a watermoat, so rather greater distance, London-through glass windows and /or watermoat. London's inside is light and bright, Bristol's darker and less good for photography.

For photography, Blackpool is okay outdoors too.
also Port Lympne outdoor enclosures are good/open.

For close-ups maybe but all that sterile shorn grass & brick walls is why I'd choose Bristol inspite of the distance (from my home and the gorillas.) I suppose the antics of the two youngsters also affected my judgement.

Little girl looking across the moat in the direction of large silverback Jock "Oooh look, a waterfall."

For closeups yes. You can cut out the backgrounds!

That said one of the best Gorilla photos I ever took (and I've taken thousands!) was of Bristol female Salome standing on the boulders near the entrance indoors, and looking directly at me. Never taken a better shot before or since!

Come to the Toronto Zoo in Ontario Canada. The gorillas have an exhibit that is designed as their natural habitat as well as a dayroom with hammocks and an outdoor enclosure with lots of levels and challenges for them. Great picture opportunities.
