Auckland Zoo Great time!

We went to Auckland Zoo on the 18th of November while on Holiday and had a great time. I thought it was a great zoo. I must admit I haven't travelled the world to check out the different zoo's but this one I enjoyed more than Melbourne Zoo.

Maybe the times I've been to Melbourne I have been unlucky or something, as I am sure many of you will be able to point out the reason's why Melbourne Zoo is better. I just found I was able to get closer to the animals at Auckland. I took a few photo's, only got an Olympus u700 so They arn't great but I might try and upload them later.

It's a funny thing, JimmyBanks, but the first time you go to a different zoo to your usual one, it always seems better - probably because it's new and fresh to you.

I grew up going to Taronga every school holidays - got a bit used to it - and the first time I went to Melbourne zoo I thought, "Wow! What a great zoo - I'm so much closer to the bears; so much closer to the lions; Taronga doesn't have any of these baboons" etc.

Nowadays I think that they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

There's nothing like visiting a zoo for the first time, you have so many expectations but at the same time not sure what to expect. I felt like that when I visited Adelaide for the first time.

It is a fantastic little zoo, no doubt about it but I loved Melbourne when I was there on holiday too... I think Ara is right with his grass is greener theory..!
