Hey all, just wanted to pop in and say hi from Oman. Originally from South Africa and just moved to Oman in The Middle East to assist with the start up of a Safari Park. I have a fairly extensive Conservation and Nature Guiding background, however I'm fairly new to the Zoo type arena so hoping to gain some new insight, valuable information and just looking forward to meeting some like minded individuals that care about Animal welfare in general.
 
Hello Gareth, welcome to Zoochat. Quite interesting to learn you are starting in the Sultanate with a safari park operation. Surely would like to know more about that!

Welcome! Great to know that there is development in the Middle East! I'm sure the safari park will turn out to be a brilliant place and it would be great if some rarities from Oman and the surrounding countries were to be found in the zoo, maybe even Arabian leopards if we are lucky :)
What do you think about the challenges that the climate in Oman pose to building the park? Will the park be mainly warm weather species or quite a well-rounded collection?
