Guess the movie

1. Diva. Classy French action/drama, well worth checking out if you've not seen it
2. Witness (Stefka)
3. In a better world. Excellent Danish drama which won best foreign language film at the Oscars in 2011.
4. Gallipoli. (Pat) Same director as Witness, Peter Weir.

just thought I'd reboot this franchise

montagne14: yes, number one is The Road

Pygathrix: no, number two is not Children Of Men

yes, number three is Children Of Men.

All these movies are post-apocalyptic in theme

#2 looks like Mila Kunis, so that's probably the movie she did with Denzel Washington - the name of which I can't recall. I think he was a kind of preacher or something, and there was a bible involved.

That would be Book of Eli. 4 is Jenny Agutter, in Logan's Run.

Talking of post-apocalyptic, I watched Vigil (see up thread) the other day...it's not one I would recommend! Brain Dead however was brilliant - much more interesting than Jackson's LOTR yawnfest (we had a NZ film night accompanied by some New Zealand flavoured wine).

Brain Dead is quite remarkable given the budget (i.e. zip) :D

So we have montagne14 with The Road
and Pygathrix with Book Of Eli, Children Of Men and Logan's Run

just one more (famous) one to go

Yikes! Torture for all you senses then. I hope you recovered. :D

Well I enjoyed it :p. I've got Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles together with a nice bottle of Cloudy Bay lined up for later in the week. In the interests of cultural balance I'll also do a Kath and Kim marathon accompanied by an esky of VB.

A man after my own heart, I remember seeing Meet the Feebles when it was first released in the UK (I was a hard core weird film afficionado back in the day), loving it, and then alienating most of my workmates lending them the video when it came out. I must have seen Bad Taste a dozen or so times in the first couple of years after it was released and used to buy and sell videos of it to Finland (they had worse censorship than us circa "video nasties" hysteria era at the time). I like to think I helped lead to Lord of the Rings being made in my own little way:D.

Heavenly Creatures and Once Were Warriors would also make up a great NZ double bill (but not so great with wine, especially the latter). The Piano would probably go great with wine but I'd probably start feeling too highbrow and hate myself.

Pygathrix has The Omega Man correct, and however many of the others. I can't remember....all but one of them? It's on the other page now and I can't be bothered checking. So Pygathrix wins.

A couple steamy movies from a few years ago.

NB* The last pic is a scene from a TV series though.
