Guess the place - geography game

Hi guys,
following the success of “Guess the ___” threads, I would like to start up a brand new game for all ZooChatters interested in geography and travelling. ;)

Here are the rules.

1. Someone will post picture(s) of some place(s). You have to guess what it is and where it is (including the country; e.g. Statue of Liberty, New York, U.S.A.)

2. First person to guess them correctly has to post the next ones.

3. You can use your own photos or you can use pictures from the web. Always state the source when using pictures from the internet.

4. Pictures can include – view of a city, historical/natural monuments and landmarks, important buildings... anything that comes to your mind.
The only condition: the place must be “possible to know”. It should be something you are likely to see/visit, when travelling to this area or watching a documentary from this area. Not a random house in a random street, of course ;)

I will post 3 easier ones to get started. (Source: Wikipedia)
Whoever gets them first will have a turn!

Good luck ;-)

Seattle, Petra and the Angel falls.

Easy start, wasn´t it? OK, you have a go! ;)

P.S. May I suggest we also write the country? I know that these were easy ones, but it looks better and it will make it clear to everyone.
So 1. Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.
2. Petra, Jordan
3. Angel Falls, Venezuela

One thing that I have noticed is that everyone likes to play, but not everyone likes to take the time to post pics. :p

I'll have a go at kiang's pics.

I know! Rebels, that´s what they are! Disrupting the system from the inside! :D

People, when you win, your PRIZE is the right to upload another challenge for others! ;)

1. some aqueduct?
2. some Alpine lake?

:D

I´m not gonna win this round either :D

I think place one is a place not too far away from me, the Glenfinnan viaduct on the world famous West Highland line, where the train scenes in the Harry Potter movies were shot.
I haven't a clue for picture 2, looks to be the inside of a volcano???

Kiang is correct with the Glenfinnan aqueduct. Now someone needs to find out where the lake is (and just as a clue, Kiang is also correct is assuming this lake is in a volcano).

Actually its Glennfinnan Viaduct not Aquaduct,is it carries a railway across it while an Aquaduct carries water!!

Will you give us a hint? At least narrow it down to a continent or something? :D

Volcan Irazu is the correct answer.

So now, we have had a correct answer from both Kiang and devilfish. I'll leave it up to you two to decide who goes next.
