However, if this is because you don't have photos, then I think it's okay, because we let Scolopendra to do it when he/she posts. So since Pygathrix doesn't have any known pics (judging by how he hasn't uploaded any), it's okay to do it.
I think in the case of not having any photos then its alright to use public domain photos, so long as they are of species you have actually seen. But if a person plainly does have photos of their own (i.e. because they have uploaded photos to the gallery and thus obviously have others as well) then they can only use their own photos. I think that's fair enough.

Oh dear I feel like I have well and truly had my wrist slapped. I have got a camera but I am very lazy about taking pictures, and not that good at it. Also there is plenty of competition here so I don't bother posting. But maybe I will now...

And emphasis on YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE PICTURES POSTED ON THE WEBSITE IN ORDER TO POST PICTURES ON THIS THREAD. Pygathrix, sorry if this seemed like a personal attack; it certainly was not intended to be. It was just for those who may not have known. :)

Boy, this thread got wild in the day and a half I've been gone...

all of those people guessing for number five, you might want to take note of the blue on the wing.....

I fell into the trap of not clicking the thumbnail to enlarge it. Sounds familiar? :D

I don't know what it is now. Is it a psittaciform though?

I hadn't enlarged it either: the blue was quite obvious :p

If I'm right (and I usually am :p), then yes it is a common Australian psittacid

This is harder than I thought. Still only 2 have been guessed. They're all Australian or Thai species, if that's any help.

just bumping the thread to remind people its still here....the guesses have sort of dried up!

I'm not playing because I don't have photos to post at the moment, but I think numbers 2 and 5 have been guessed correctly already. Number 3 I'm assuming is at either Chiang Mai Zoo or Dusit Zoo if that helps.

I don't actually know number 4 at all.....

nope, make them work for it!

Some hints might not go astray however.

Number 1 has complicated taxonomy (possibly a species complex), number 3 isn't a felid, number 4 has an endangered subspecies.

I'm surprised there's only been one guess at number three. Ituri should be able to figure that one out; he likes his small mammals.

Is number four Australian or Thai? (Oh, actually I just realised what it is! :D)
