#1 is a noisy miner, so you now have two correct.

Is dusky moorhen your answer for number 2?
 
I think I must have been editing it while you were posting, sorry.

So answers now are
1) noisy miner
2) dusky moorhen
4) ground parrot
 
and by the way, dusky moorhens and purple swamphens are not at all similar ;)
 
as I recall your only rebuttal against the zoogeographical and geological argument was one of racism (the people in Saudi Arabia aren't black and therefore its not part of the African region) ;)

Still my expert cross allowed nanoboy to nod it into the back of the net.

I have absolutely no idea about any of the other birds, I'm not even very good at British birds.
 
I'll give a couple of clues for the two unguessed birds, which should end the round fairly quickly:

* one was photographed on Taveuni (Fiji)

* the other is amongst the largest of passerines
 
golden whistler is correct (note: the golden whistler is split every which way but Sunday and not always with consensus amongst authors, so I prefer to just keep it lumped: so this is either golden whistler, Pacific whistler, or Fiji whistler...depending on one's taxonomic leanings)

superb lyrebird is oh so very very close....

So the results are Ituri with two points, Pygathrix with half a point, and nanoboy with three points but he gets a point removed for believing that purple swamphens and dusky moorhens look similar, so its a tie between Ituri and nanoboy ;)

If nanoboy wants to go next then he can
 
Do nose profiles from each of the gorillas at Melbourne Zoo and make us guess the name of each individual gorilla. :P
