Guess the species #6

all five have now been guessed correctly. Robmv has guessed the theme (Burma). ThylacineAlive is the winner with three correct answers ... but can he put them all in the right order??

1) Brow-Antlered Deer
2) Irrawady Dolphin
3) Shortridge's Langur
4) Clouded Leopard
5) Rufous-Necked Hornbill

3) Shortridge's Langur
4) Clouded Leopard
5) Rufous-Necked Hornbill
that is correct. (Note that robmv made a little typo with his answer: the rufous-necked hornbill is Aceros nipalensis).

All the photos were taken in Burma and all were captive except the Irrawaddy dolphin.

ThylacineAlive originally got the answers for 1, 2 and 4; TeaLovingDave got answer 3; and robmv got answer 5 plus a gold star.

Here we go again! The winner is the one with the most correct guesses!

Well, Moebelle got them all in one foul sweep!

I do find it interesting, though, that he "guessed" them right in the exact order as they appear in my personal gallery. Even down to guessing the two that appear right next to each other in my personally gallery at the same time.

Moebelle, I'm not saying that you did search through my personally gallery in order to get the correct answers, but if you did, please don't do it again. *While it isn't at all illegal and it's up to you to decide how you play the game, it kind of demeans the point of the game- which is to guess what you think it is and see if you're right while competing with your fellow ZooChatters- and also isn't fair to those who want to play the way it was designed. If not, my apologies and congratulations on the amazing sweep!

*And that's for everyone, not just Moebelle (if he is guilty).

Now for anyone who's wondering, the hint in the titles was that the name given was of a species within the same genus as the real species (and of course I double-bluffed the squirrel). The exception was obviously the Inca Tern, which is in a monotypic genus.

The answers (and pictures) were:
1) http://www.zoochat.com/556/lanner-falcon-329212/ Falco biarmicus
2) http://www.zoochat.com/547/red-bellied-short-necked-turtle-362593/ Emydura subglobosa
3) http://www.zoochat.com/547/harriss-antelope-squirrel-352877/ Ammospermophilus harrisii
4) http://www.zoochat.com/547/inca-terns-363784/ Larosterna inca
5) http://www.zoochat.com/547/peruvian-pelican-363786/ Pelecanus thagus

I recognized the Pelican photo, your hint for the falcon did not match a Peregrine's but it was still obvious for me to know that it was still a falcon, the squirrel picture had the name already there, the Inca terns were obvious, when the turtle didn't match I searched into Google "red belly river turtle", when I got "Northern red-bellied cooter", I knew that wasn't it. So I saw the feet and I thought of a snake-necked turtle and I typed in "Red belly snake necked turtle", I got "Red-bellied Short-necked Turtle".

I guess I'll go

Two different zoos, none in the gallery (these were specifically taken for the game), and the last one does not count but it is a trick question (the answer can be found in Cincinnati's gallery).

1. Polar Bear
2. Blue-faced Honeyeater
3. Rupells Vulture
4. Andean Cock-of-the-rock
5. Red-crested Cardinal
6. Hybrid Macaw, Blue and gold x Green-winged

Excuse me, NOW we have 4 correct. I misread Hevden's post and I thought it said 'Red-capped Cardinal'. In order for people to make it a tie breaker, should I make 6 count towards the score?

1) Malayan Tiger
2) Blue-Faced Honeyeater
3) Griffon Vulture
4) Andean Cock-of-the-Rock
5) Red-Capped Cardinal
6) Blue-an-Yellow MacawXMilitary Macaw

No new guesses, to make things interesting I will make number 6 count but it has not been gueased yet.
