Guess the species #6

I was sitting here at home and realized this round was never finished and since I highly doubt it ever will be, here are the answers:

1) Short-Beaked Echidna Tachyglossus aculeatus aculeatus
2) Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake Sistrurus catenatus catenatus
3) Buff-Crested Bustard Lophotis gindiana
4) Western Crowned Pigeon Goura cristata
5) Indian Gaur Bos frontalis gaurus
6) Malagasy Giant Rat Hypogeomys antimena

Special thanks to TLD for spoiling the fun!:p:D;)

argh, I was just about to post those answers!! :D

Anyone fancy doing this again? I'm happy to do a round if there is interest.

Though I wouldn't want to flog a dead horse.

An old thread that is well worth reviving! Not that I take part, I just enjoy watching the guesses getting more and more obscure! :p

Right then, here's five pictures of parts of animals. Three captive ones and two wild ones. I've tried to do them not too hard or too easy so here goes...

1: common rhea chick
2: a barbet species?
3: ellipsen waterbuck
4: cordon-bleu (impossible to tell whether common or red-cheeked)
5: a woodpecker or another barbet?

I say #5 is a kingfisher. The species is on the tip of my tongue as I believe he mentioned it the other day as being a lifetick but I can't recall exactly.

1) Cape Ground Squirrel
2) Common Mynah
3) Defassa Waterbuck
4) Red-cheeked Cordon Bleu
5) Giant Kingfisher

Four have now been guessed correctly. :)

Only the second one remains with no correct guesses (though one person is on the right lines). I think this one might be quite difficult so I'll post a clue if no one guesses it by the end of the day.
