Guess the species #6

Considering barely anyone has made an attempt, and no one has attempted after I gave clues, I can't say I didn't try :p

1. Madagascan Tree Boa
2. Corncrake
3. Parma Wallaby
4. Diana Guenon
5 .Red-tailed Laughing Thrush
6. Kaka

Still only two correct answers floating around, but I reiterate: there are also a few answers which, although incorrect, are very close to the correct answer.

Time for another clue? (maybe a proper one this time? :p)

Looking at it, of these there are two correct guesses:
1. Dice Snake or Madagascar Tree Boa
2.Corncrake or Bengal Eagle owl
3. White-lipped deer or Hog Deer or Fallow Deer
4. Diana Monkey or Mona monkey
5. Red-tailed Laughingthrush
6. Kaka

We also know that they are all species that TLD has seen and there are many answers that are close to correct. The complete list of guesses which includes close to correct answers have to be from:

1. Dice Snake or Madagascar Tree Boa or European Adder or Viperine Water Snake or Hungarian Meadow Viper
2.Corncrake or Bengal Eagle owl
3. White-lipped deer or Hog Deer or Fallow Deer or Sika Deer or Sambar Deer or Parma Wallaby
4. Diana Monkey or Mona monkey
5. Red-tailed Laughingthrush or Flycatcher sp.
6. Kaka or Domestic Fowl

I have no idea:p. Anyone?

Okay then :p I went to six collections on my recent trip to Bavaria - Munich, Stuttgart, Innsbruck, Olching, Nuremberg and Augsburg - and there is a photo taken at each collection in the challenge.

Two species have been correctly guessed.
Three have had close guesses.
One hasn't been guessed in the slightest.

So if you've done this then I'm going to work on the - quite possibly completely wrong - idea that you've chosen a notable species from each collection so:

Stuttgart: 6 - Kaka

Olching: 2 - Corncrake

So I think those are the two that were guessed correctly

Munich: 4 - Roloway Monkey

Innsbruck: 1 - Nose-horned Viper

Nuremberg: 3 - Dybowski Deer

Augsburg : 5 - Ruby-topaz Hummingbird

I like your thinking :D five correct and one incorrect!

Considering 9 people attempted the last one by LaughingDove, and only 4 people attempted mine, I think people collapsed with exhaustion before mine! :p

Six pictures here.
Hopefully not too easy or too hard.
All taken by myself in zoos this year. Good luck to anyone who bothers!

3. Papuan (Dwarf) Cassowary

I was hoping a few more people would guess before I posted this, but it looks like this thread is going to die unless a few more people start guessing.

So far one correct guess and a few that are close. :)

1 Taveta golden weaver
2 white-lipped peccary
3 cassowary species - it is impossible to tell which from the photo
4 Pesquet's parrot
5 thick-billed ground pigeon
6 wombat - again, species indeterminable

Alan

1. Taveta golden weaver
2. white-lipped peccary
3. Northern Cassowary
4. Some sort of black cockatoo? (the bill just doesn't look like a pesquet's to me)
5. White-rumped shama
6. European Souslik

2. maybe a Chacoan peccary?

3. is a single-wattled cassowary - you can see the bottom of the red neck skin.

4. is a Pesquet's parrot - it is the only one with that combination of feather colour and posture.
