Congrat. Pertinax, that was the one I was looking for ! 2 years later the Spider monkey called Poef died at a fire which killed 44 monkeys - mainly little South american monkeys but also 7 Spider monkeys !

I remember seeing photos at the time in the InterZooNews- or maybe it was a Yearbook. I think one of the Gorillas was 'Mouila' and she still lives in Australia. Who knows if using the baby spider monkey helped or not, but it was a good idea as first time mothers with no previous maternal examples in their groups to watch, frequently rejected their babies in those days. They tried it at San Diego first with a sackdoll and I think it worked there too, but not on a later try. So my turn...
