That is an interesting collection, especially the pangolin. I guess that some of the animal welfare issues were of their time. Unfortunately, some of the Latin names didn't match the animals in the photographs.

When I visited Marseille, I chanced upon the former zoo grounds. It is a tiny city park. It is amazing that it once held many wild animals, even dolphinatium, and it must have been very cramped.

Yes, according to the pictures in the guide, the pens were not very big. But it was a whole for that time.
