Seems a very interesting species list with quite a few rarities!!!!

In all fairness, that would trigger ... where, how and what for new developments with these species (pair up/new species and/or new exhibit et cetera)?

Last Syrian Brown bear of the zoo "Benny" died 26/01/25, the zoo is currently discussing what to do with the enclosure
That is unfortunate and leaves the zoo without an iconic native species (that is extinct both in Israel and Jordan ... amongst others). Given the large outlay of this double exhibit ... I would expect new bears to come in. It might be good to have contacts to both Armenian or Turkish zoos for Syrian brown bears and/or explore these ...!

And I guess Alex Kantorovic (Head zoological collection of the zoo) trying to do the best with space and budget they have
I know and he is a switched on inspired Curator of Animals.

I would love to see a herd of mountain gazelle Gazella gazella gazella at the Zoo!

What I do know they have held a herd of Nubian ibex for quite some time (the exhibit I think is next to the Syrian brown bears. The space beyond (and I do not mean the current bear exhibit) would be nice to showcase a herd of the mountain gazelle from northern Israel, Judea mountains and Golan Heights. The species remains ... even in Israel - thanks to the Nature Reserves Authority protected - vulnerable and in parts has been declining like around Jerusalem with human impacts, stray dogs, some poaching and most important the pressure put on the greenfields and nature by unrestricted building activities.
