Hamerton Zoo Park Hamerton Zoo News 2025

Three new brown hyena pups! Log in to Facebook

Excellent news and a great result for the team.

I was sad to see on their Facebook that Millie the Howler monkey had died. Just as we were coming to the good weather she would have been a bit of a fixture in her hammock on the way out of the aviary and always one to look for. She had a long and well cared for life and it must be a sad moment for the keepers who worked with her for such a long time.

Have never visited Hamerton so just curious was she on her own and if so for how long?

Went to Hamerton yesterday, they seem to be building an enclosure between the bears and tigers, not overly high fencing but they were adding overhang, don't know what will go in there, does anyone know? Briefly saw the sugar glider peaking out of its box before the lights swapped to red. Unfortunately didn't see the Hyena or Hyena pups.

Wasn’t this speculated as extra accommodation for the cheetah?

They dont have sugar gliders, so far as I know.

The work being done on the picnic area is a rather large green climbing/adventure/swing/play construction. Kids will love it!

It amuses me that on one hand, people constantly speculate about future developments at Hamerton, yet on the other hand when a *very* interesting piece of information is officially released via the Zoo Grapevine magazine a month or so ago, no one at all seems to notice or remark upon it because their eyes overlook the details and assume it's the same information they already knew :D
