This puzzling story made front-page headlines in British Columbia today, as a harbour seal launched itself almost 2 meters into the air and onto a dock in Vancouver. It bit and then rapidly dragged a 5 year-old girl into the water. She escaped unharmed, but minutes earlier had been throwing out pieces of fish into the ocean. Don't feed local wildlife!

Seal drags five-year-old girl into water at West Vancouver marina

Wow! Isn't 2 menters like 6 feet or something? I did'nt know there nature was all that aggressive (Might have just been looking for food and when she stopped, wanted more)

The Vancouver Aquarium has been shocked with the news and issued a statement telling people not to assume that seals are tame animals, but there was at least one eyewitness standing almost right next to the girl to confirm the story. The seal bit down on her hand and pulled her into the water, but then let go immediately and she swam away safely. Crazy but true.
