Sequoia Park Zoo Has anybody been to Sequoia Park Zoo and have a review?

The Sequoia Park Zoo is a small zoo in the town of Eureka, California, up near the Oregon border.

Has anybody here been to this zoo? It looks like a nice little zoo with an ambitious master plan for the future including South American, American Prairie, and California Predator exhibits featuring giant anteaters, black bears, river otters, mountain lions, prairie dogs, black-footed ferrets, spider monkeys, etc.

They have recently gotten a grant to build a river otter-salmon-bald eagle exhibit complex, and have completed a new red panda exhibit.

If anybody has visited and has a review I would be very interested in hearing about it, as I'm sure that others would also.
 
I just missed going last year when my family was planning a trip to Northern California. Unfortunately, those plans fell through. But should we make it up that way within the next year or so, Sequoia Park Zoo will definitely be on the list of things to see.
 
I haven't been there since I moved from Eureka years ago, but I can say a bit about it. It is the smallest zoo I have ever been too. Not many exhibits, but what they do have is not shabby at all. They recently started charging admission though sadly, and the Chimp they had(Oldest male ever I think) died. A tiny zoo though really. It is also right next to a lovely Redwood park.

Thanks for the review, stimulant. It looks like they are fixing up the zoo very nicely and have a nice master plan. Next time I am up on that part of the coast I will try and check it out.
