Do you visit zoos, wildlife parks or aquariums? Have you taken part in an animal encounter? – Then we need you!

I am a PhD researcher at the University of Lincoln, where we are aiming to recruit people to a new research study looking at the impact of taking part in a behind-the-scenes animal encounter at a zoo.

These encounters might be called a “keeper for the day” experience, a “meet and greet” experience, or a named “animal encounter.” Each zoo has its own name for similar experiences!

We are looking for anyone, over the age of 18 who has taken part in an animal encounter at a zoo in the last 5 years (since 2017). Participants must be able to communicate in English, be able to access a computer/phone/tablet and be willing and able to give informed consent.

The research will consist of completing a questionnaire which it is estimated could take up to 15 minutes to complete. There is also an optional invite to give further details and your thoughts using further questions. The ethic reference for this study is UoL 2022_9711. You can complete the questionnaire by following this link - https://unioflincoln.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ablHbRQ73g9wN6u.
