As the title suggests, this one will focus on the MOUNTAINS AND POLES category - as previously, the match will last for three days and although discussion of your reasoning and provision of supplementary evidence is not mandatory (except in cases of a 5:0 vote) it *is* very much encouraged.

Moreover, even if one does not feel comfortable voting, please do ask questions, post comments relating to your opinions on the evidence presented, and generally-speaking get involved in the wider discussion!

Tierpark Berlin of course has the world-class Himalayan zone. Zoo Berlin has two very charming mountain ungulate exhibits, together with some raptors next to it. The penguin and seal exhibits are also quite good. There are also some other animals scattered around the zoo, like mountain bongo. But i hope someone else can go a little more into detail, as my visit to the zoo was long ago and I never visited the Tierpark.

Since i'm back I hope I can put a spark into the discussions with a showcase for Tierpark Berlin and perhaps Zoo Berlin if someone doesn't beat me to it.

@twilighter - You are greeted by a wonderful 'aviary' for François Langur which provides a lot of vertical space for these wonderful leaf-eaters.
full

@twilighter - Aviary with a nice mix of a raptor and pheasant. I would mention that they take part in the releasing off the vultures in the wild, but seeing as the zoo also has them I assume they are also involved with this action.
Species: Bearded Vulture, White-eared Pheasant
full

@Philipine eagle - Nice and Small enclosure for Père David's Rock Squirrel.
full

full

@SivatheriumGuy - Two of the three takin species live in this area in large enclosures with the latter picture containing a mix with a smaller caprid.
Species: Sichuan Takin, Shensi Takin and Central Chinese Ghoral.
full

@SivatheriumGuy - Getting a former Bharal enclosure does have it merits and in the case of the Nepalese Red Panda and Michie's Tufted Deer that means getting the biggest enclosure for the species.
full

@twilighter - A nice Snow Leopard enclosure.

@SivatheriumGuy - A rather large enclosure for the supposed 'Grumpy Cat' on top of the 'Himalaya' mountain of this area. Species: Siberian Pallas' Cat.
full

Fantastic large and hilly enclosure for Bharal and Marco Polo Sheep (only holder in europe).
full

@twilighter - Enclosure for White-lipped Deer situated on a slope.
full

@Philipine eagle - Huge enclosure for Eastern Kiangs. I believe Steppe Marmot can sometimes be found here, can someone confirm or deny?
full

@Philipine eagle - Nice aviary for Himalayan Monal.
full

@twilighter - Enclosure for Tajik Markhor and Siberian Ibex sloping up. You can see this enclosure when you take the walk down from the Pallas' cats as well.

@snowleopard and @Green_mamba - These two primates can be found in the african mountain regions. One is found in the Ethiopian Highlands, the other in the Atlas mountains. (So is the Barbary Stag) Species: Gelada, Barbary Macaque.

@Philipine eagle - This fantastic indoor and outdoor enclosure is home to Clouded Leopard.

full

@Green_mamba - Enclosure home to Chinese Dhole.

@SivatheriumGuy - This enclosure holds the 'rare in europe' Rocky Mountain Goat'.
full

@SivatheriumGuy - This simple enclosure holds the last of the Takins. The Mishmi Takin.
full

@Philipine eagle - Valley enclosure (fitting for this category) for Spectacled Bears.
full

@lintworm - Two of the paddocks are home to Southern Vicuña and Guanaco.
Poles:
full

@SivatheriumGuy - Great water area for Polar Bears, but with the obvious lack of land area.
full

@Hvedekorn - Enclosure home to Eurasian Forest Reindeer.

Summary: There are a multitude of species that may still count that I don't know if they do for sure, such as: Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo, Sumatran Tiger, Siberian Musk Deer, Hartmann's Mountain Zebra,...?
I do think the Tierpark has a fantastic collection for this specific category regardless of whether these last ones count. I will visit these two zoos and some more in the next week or two so my info will be even more up to date. Feel free to add any animals to this showcase. Perhaps the pheasantry has a couple of species?

Zoo Berlin:

@MagpieGoose - One of the better Giant Panda enclosures and perhaps the highlight for this category together with one that I will highlight next.

@ZooTripper365 - Decent enclosures for European Brown Bears and Eurasian Wolves.

Poles:
full

@SivatheriumGuy - This walktrough enclosure is home to 3 species of owl with one being eligible: Snowy Owl.
full

@Green_mamba - Enclosure for Harbour Seals.
full

@SivatheriumGuy - Great enclosure for King Penguin and Northern Rockhopper Penguin with one of the few that has natural sunlight.
full

@LaughingDove - A standard but nicely shaded enclosure for Eurasian Forest Reindeer.

Summary: I hope I did somewhat of a good job showcasing Zoo Berlin as this one was harder to find than their counterpart due to the obvious 'Himalaya' area. If i missed any species or you find some species not befitted to this category, please let me know.
