As the plans have now been submitted thought id start a new thread for HOA. Have just been looking at the plans myself and see that the plans show that the Gorillas will be mixed with Colobus Monkeys and Pygmy Hippos mixed with Mandrills whilst of course these plans can change I look forward to seeing the mixed exhibits. Also the sound of the underwater Hippo viewing area sounds really interesting.

A curious plan. Especially them mixing the pygmy hippos with the mandrills.

If I'm correct this Mix has allready been achieved at South Lakes with Pygmy Hippos and Mandrills but im not too convinced that it went too well?
Now the Pygmy Hippos are in their own enclosure giving them alot more privacy away from the primates.
The Heart of Africa looks very exciting but I hope it wont carry on the 'window dressing' method used in so many big American Zoos. And as it has allready been achieved in Realm of the Red Ape with very little if not any hot wire being used and still looking great, I hope they dont go over the top in this next exhibit but i am sure with it being Chester it will be very good.
