Hello everyone, this may be a bit odd as I've been on ZooChat for many years but never gotten round to doing a proper introduction so here goes...
My name is Alec and I've been captivated by zoos for as long as I can remember. I've always been fascinated with the history, enclosures and species they contain so I find this website incredibly useful, not only as a resource of information (particularly the London Zoo gallery which has some incredible pieces of history in it) but also to connect with like-minded people.
I currently volunteer at Drusillas Park which I've been doing for the past seven years and have been visiting for a lot longer. I also do a lot of art and nature photography and have a YouTube channel which I'll link here: Ancient Realms
