:)Hello all,
I've been lurking awhile on this site, just now joined. So much info on this site, it's wonderful.

I'm the manager of a small local zoo that is in the process of rebuilding and moving forward to make things better for all the animals. I am always searching for new ideas and information. This looks like a great site!

Glad to have found this site!

Cool. Its nice to have another zoo manager on here (I think there are 2 or 3 others, but I couldn't remember who, might be owners too). Hope to get some info and photos from Plumpton Park on here:)

That's great that there are other managers/workers on this forum.

We are starting over fresh with this zoo, new staff, new owners, new outlook for the future. Lots of positive news for a little zoo that has great potential!

Welcome to the site, I agree it would be great to find out more about your zoo! I find smaller, less well-known collections fascinating as it's always interesting to see what species they go for and how they are exhibited with the resources they have.

I love finding out what other small zoo's are doing these days. It's hard to compete with the "big" zoo's, but we fill a different niche...smaller and more intimate zoo's where you can really observe and come closer to the animals.

The zoo I work for is undergoing major renovations and improvements. However we do have many nice animals, giraffe, siberian tiger, wolves, fox, serval, lynx, bobcat, barred owl, zebra, bactrian camels, siamang, bison, muntjac, emu, fallow deer, cranes and various farmyard animals (alpaca, llama, donks, goats, chickens, etc)

Looking forward to exploring this site!

Actually sounds quite a sizeable place, a medium if not larger zoo

Helloo All

May I ask what Cranes you have, and what other birds apart from Barred Owls & Emus?

Sand Hill cranes (two VERY loud one's), peacocks, peahen, heritage turkey, wild turkey, sev kinds on ducks... The zoo also has two black swans, red tail hawk and a screech owl, off exhibit at another location until the old enclosures can be made more suitable.

It's a little zoo with tons of potential! Just excited to be a part of it's new beginning.
