My favorite zoo so far is San Diego Zoo. Followed closely by the San Diego Wild Animal Park. I am fortunate to have several friends who are either keepers, managers or curators at both facilities. I grew up visiting the San Francisco Zoo from infancy and I still go to visit as often as I can. The last 10 years or so my wife and I lived in Sacramento so we took every opportunity to visit the Sacramento Zoo. I also worked as a volunteer keeper there.
A few other zoos that I have really enjoyed touring are the Miami Metro Zoo, Dallas Zoo, Oakland Zoo, Safari West, Wildlife World Zoo, Parrot Jungle Island, Los Angeles Zoo, Six Flags Vallejo, Honolulu Zoo & Africam Safari (Puebla). This is by no means a complete list but just my favorites.
One of my goals in life is to visit many hundreds more zoos, aquariums and wildlife preserves. Jurong Bird Park and Walsrode are the top two on my priority list.
