Welcome Becky. I stay in Paignton every year visiting collections in the West Country, but not Dartmoor since 1998 so I've not been since the change of ownership. As a non-driver it's a bit tricky for me to get to. I was once the worst zoo keeper in the country, working at Sewerby Zoo in Bridlington - I'd got a job there aged 40 so I'd been lucky and hoped my dream had come true......but! I've just been trimming my cock Senegal Parrot's beak and he didn't enjoy it. I've a hen too, but she will not live with him and I've a pair of Green-cheeked Conures. Zoos and Parrots are my passions, especially the latter in the former - hence my Zoo Chat name!:)

Hey Becky, Welcome to Zoo Chat - Have fun with the job - Dartmoor is not a zoo I've visted yet but I will :O) Read the book though so it feels like I know it!

I havn't trimmed beaks, brushed any coats, wormed anything or mucked out anything this morning - unless you count getting myself out of bed which to be fair can be a trial sometimes!
My local zoo is Chester but within an hours drive I'm lucky to have Welsh Mountain & Knowsley Safari Park too, extend that to and hour and a half and I have Chestnut Centre, Blackpool Zoo and many other smaller attractions. We're quite lucky in the North West I think.
Anyway - welcome to the family!

Hi Becky and a warm welcome to ZooChat, i have not been to Dartmoor since the new owner,s have been there,
