Hi guys! I am so excited to get the opportunity to chat with like-minded individuals who love the natural world as much as I do.

I'm currently interning at a zoo in my state and I'm having a blast so far. I was lucky enough to get to choose the species I will be working with and I quickly chose the prosimians, specifically, three different species of lemurs! I have been utterly obsessed with these incredibly endangered primates, so this feels like a dream come true! This internship allows me to earn college credit while also getting to hyper-fixate on my favorite animals lol. Additionally, I will be taking part in a wildlife conservation internship that focuses on research for two months next summer in Madagascar. I figured that this zoo internship would allow me to become more knowledgeable about the animals I will later observe in their natural habitat. I have put off pursuing internships until recently because I didn't feel like I could be successful, but I'm so over holding myself back. Imposter syndrome is no joke. Here's to career building!

Now I have a fun question for you: What is your favorite animal to visit at the zoo and why?

Welcome aboard! I hope you have fun around here:D

I try to equally distribute my appreciation to all animals in all forms and shapes, but ungulates are always my favourite to look up close because of how relateable I find their lost expressions :p

Hello, welcome!! Your internship sounds awesome, lemurs are amazing animals that are so important for conservation. It's great that you're enjoying it so much - have fun with your Madagascar internship as well!

I am a sucker for marine mammals, but I do always love seeing all and any kinds of bears when I visit any zoo. I loveee big cats too!
