I've only just got online so hello to Zoo Chat. I am a lifelong zoo enthusiast and have been an unsuccessful keeper. I live in Yorkshire, UK but most of my current favourite zoos are in South-west England plus the Welsh Mountain Zoo. I am particularly interested in Parrots (not surprisingly) and any discussions on them would be very welcome.

My favourite Parrot species

It is very hard to pick one, but maybe the Palm Cockatoo. I do like all the species of black Cockatoos - plus many more!

Welcome to Zoochat Parrotsandrew . Would I be right in thinking that you used to contribute regularly to 'Mainly about Animals' magazine which has now sadly ceased publication ?

Thank-you Bele and Foz. Yes I did used to contribute to "Mainly About Animals", in late 1997 Clinton Keeling wrote to me and told me I was now its "North-eastern Zoological Gardens Correspondent" (an excellent title I thought) and it started from there. I continued until the final issue in January last year.
