Hello From Saint Louis!

Hi there, everyone! I’m Forge, a relatively new member of the ZooChat community but you may have started to see me around. I am a St. Louis local, or at least I have been for about a year. Because it is a free, wonderful zoo, and easy to get to, I have been to the Saint Louis Zoo nearly forty times since the Summer of 2022!

I have been a zoo fan for all of my life, beginning with Louisville Zoo as my local zoo before living in Chicago as a teenager, frequently going to Lincoln Park Zoo and Brookfield Zoo. I am a fan of mammals, the larger the better. African Elephants have always been my very favorite animal, but Colobus Monkeys have skyrocketed to my second favorite very recently. I hope to get to know some of you better over time!

Welcome to Zoochat! I guess you'd be a little disappointed Saint Louis has Asian Elephants rather than African. ;):p

Yes, but I love them all. I feel like I’ve been able to really get to know these elephants as individuals and so I’m really attached.

They have quite a nice, cohesive herd. Fingers crossed for some further breeding success with them in the future. :)

Welcome to zoochat! Brookfield, Lincoln Park, and especially St. Louis have been some of my most frequented zoos in the past too.
