I just found this site yesterday when searching for information on the Beijing Zoo (thanks Chris79). I will post my own lengthy review of the Beijing zoo from my visit in 2008 (after the Olympics). If I can find time I'll separately upload some photos, and I may eventually get around to reviewing the Kyoto zoo, Osaka aquarium, and others.
I am a geneticist and an advocate for Seward Park in Seattle, an old growth forest where our bald eagles and other animals are regularly on view (despite having no cages). I'm also a fan of our local Woodland Park Zoo, which seems already well-reviewed on this site. Whenever I am lucky enough to travel, I frequently visit zoos, so I will be glad to look here for information and contribute when I can.
