Hi, just joined the forum so thought I´d say hello.
I live and work in Valencia, Spain, having emigrated from the UK two years ago. Spain is not a country reknowned for its good treatment of animals but things are improving. We have (literally) just opened a new bioparc in the city, Bioparc Valencia | El ÃÂfrica ecuatorial, la Sabana africana, y Madagascar recreados en Valencia , where animals of Africa are featured in very natural surroundings without any fencing or cages. Its so new I haven´t visited it yet but am reliably informed that it is excellent, I will apply for my annual pass, a very reasonble 41€, soon and keep you posted.
The previous zoo was appalling and I only visited it once, thankfully it´s now closed and the animals have been rehoused in the new facility.

Anyway nice to meet you all. I haven´t seen any other members from Spain yet so say hello if I´m wrong.

Hi Pete.

Welcome to the Forum and its good to have a contact in Spain and the new Valencia Zoo in particular. I hope your ZooPass comes through very soon....

Hello Pete, welcome to zoobeat!

What zoos in Spain have you visited and which is your favourite zoo anywhere?

I would also like to ask your opinion on Terra Natura, Benidorm (which I believe isn't too far from Valencia) I have heard mixed views about it, but I personally really enjoyed it!
