First of all I want to say thanks for posting your responses to my thread.

It seems like you have an excellent local zoo based on the review in America's Best Zoos, and from their website. I have never been to Kansas City Zoo, but really want to because of the 95 acre Africa exhibit with its awesome chimp exhibit, and 4.5 acre elephant habitat. I also hear you have a great exhibit for Black Rhinos
Yes, I certainlly think that the Kansas City Zoo is pretty good, though several of the people I know perfer the zoos in Omaha and St. Louis over Kansas City any day. However, I hope with all the new developments at the zoo will change their opinions about the place. As for the Africa exhibit, I can tell you right now that it is the crown jewel of the zoo. It has huge, spacious enclousures for many African animals, including the chimps, elephants, rhinos, and much more. And speaking of the rhinos, I don't remember exactly if the information is compeletly true, but just recently the Kansas City Zoo had either 1 or 5% of the worlds' black rhino population.

Do you have any photos of Kansas City Zoo you could upload to the gallery?
I do have photos of the Kansas City Zoo, but I have no way to download them on to the computer at this time. Have no fear though as I have found a website featuring hundreds of photos from the Kansas City Zoo.

And here is some video links for the Kansas City Zoo as well.

There's much to like at the KCZoo...and some things to improve. It must be great to be around a zoo that is in the early stages of re-birth!
Your absolutely right. The Kansas City Zoo has many great exhibits with several others in need of repair or replacement. I am confident that the zoos' director Randy Wisthoff and his staff will continue to make strides and hopefully put the Kansas City Zoo on the same playing field as Omaha, St. Louis, and beyond.
