My name is Kelli and I am new to the zoology field, I graduated in August of 2011. I have worked at The Akron Zoo for two seasons and I am now finishing up a four month internship at The Toledo Zoo in the animal behavior department. I have learned so much the past few years in the zoo world and I am looking forward to a life long career working with animals. I mainly joined this forum to learn about some new enrichment ideas I can implement for some of the species I work with here in Toledo but I'm also here to network as well. I mainly work with Primates at The Toledo Zoo but I also provide enrichment for hippos, rhinos, meerkats, bears, cheetahs, goats, birds, feeder mice and giraffes. Animal welfare is most important to me and that is why I chose to go into this field. I want to make a difference in animals lives and I hope that I can accomplish that for a large number of animals. So far I think I have done very well. Whether its a domestic animal rescue I have been involved in and initiated or an animal I felt needed something more to be fulfilled, I know I have made a difference. I love talking to people as passionate about animals as I am so feel free to contact me.
