I am a longtime zoo nerd and am preparing to pursue a career in the industry. I'm currently in my senior year of college to earn my bachelor's degree in biology, with a minor in environmental studies and a certificate in wildlife ecology. My home zoo is Zoo Atlanta.

I love all large carnivores, but ursids are my favorites. I especially love giant pandas — I found my passion for the species following a Panda Encounter at Zoo Atlanta in early 2024. Before that, I never appreciated how intelligent and personable these animals are. I'm hurting over the recent return of our bears to Chengdu.

My hobbies include fishkeeping, video games (especially Planet Zoo), and photography. My Instagram is @king.canid if you'd like to check out my zoo photography, and I hope to share some on here too! :)

Hello and welcome! Always happy to see love and appreciation for bear species. Personally I absolutely adore polar bears. I didn't get to see the pandas at Atlanta before they left, sadly :( I hope they will return at some point!

Good luck with your schooling and career! (by the way, your photography is stunning - amazing work!)

I think polar bears are my second favorite!! I'm in Buffalo, NY a lot so I've seen their bears quite a bit over the years. I love their female Luna. She likes to sit by the glass and watch the guests so you get some really up-close views of her. I'm so impressed by how big they are!! Especially compared to giant pandas which are surprisingly small in person.

Given Atlanta's success with their cubs, I'd sure like to hope they bring more pandas on board. They're a HUGE part of the zoo's identity and they don't have many other rarities in their collection. I can't imagine Zoo ATL without them honestly.

I'm so glad you like my photography, thank you!!
