Hi! I was living under a rock, so I just found this amazing site this week.
I'm from Cuba (that's why I choose my nickname) but currently living in Spain. I love "big cats" since I saw a jaguar in Havana's Zoo when I was a child, but so far I only have seen jaguars, lions and African leopards (those are the ones that we have in Cuba) It's my personal goal to see as many as I can in the following years, starting with the Sumatran tigers and Sri Lankan leopards at Barcelona's Zoo next month :D
I'm an addict of Zoo Tycoon 2... I feel like I have to mention that :p

Well, mostly African species, due to the relations of the regime with countries like Angola, Ethiopia, Namibia, etc. (Zebras, leopards, spotted hyenas, a white rhino, elephants, a hippo, giraffes, elands, ostriches, lions, chimpanzees) Some species from America (American black bear, Andean condor, spider monkeys, jaguars) Very few species from Asia and Oceania (binturongs and cassowaries are the only two that I can recall right now) I'm not sure about European species...I think they have none.
Mostly mammals, few birds species and very few reptilian species.
The zoo is very old, and the exhibits have not been updated in some time and they have zero creativity. The educational part is almost forgotten, which is a shame :(

It's important to point that the Havana Zoo is not mistaken with the National Zoo (which is also located in Havana City but is a whole different park) The Havana Zoo is a small, urban zoo and the National Zoo is more like a Safari Park... I don't know if that is the right term.

I made a mistake here, what I was trying to say is that the Havana Zoo is mistaken with the National Zoo.
