if you have any recomendations, just tell me :)

San diego is brilliant, Monterey is well worth a visit, and La has Woolly Mountain Tapirs and Red Uakaris. The staff at All three are brilliant people. I intend to Go to Bristol zoo over half term. Edinburgh is good, and bronx is supposed to be fantastic!

Welcome. Do you have a favourite animal?

I do have a particular fondness for the great apes :p
but i also like the Indian Rhinoss
and did you read the personal message i sent you?

Yes I did, and I have replied!

As you can probably tell I like hornbills. I have a fondness for Storks, BoPs, Pheasants and most other colourful rainforest birds.

Have you been to Blackbrook? It is a wonderful park that My dad discovered on the wayu to Alton Towers in 2001. I've been 4 times, and each time there is something new and/or improved.

I Know quite a bit about Chester's indian rhino Patna, and there is a video on the forum. I also Agree with your opinion of apes, except for Chimps. I don't like them that much.

I have seen leaflets for Blackbrook and only live about 30 minutes away, but i have never been!

I can understand your opinion on the chimps, they are quite intimidating and seem more "brutish" for want of a better word.

Hi and welcome to the forum. If you come to Australia, I would really only bother with the government-owned zoos (Taronga, Western Plains, Melbourne, Healesville, Werribee, Adelaide, Perth) and perhaps one or two private zoos (I've been to Mogo and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, which were good; also worth visiting may be [from hearsay] Territory Wildlife Park, Alice Springs Desert Park, Australia Zoo, Symbio Wildlife Gardens ...)

Make an effort, if you like birds it's very good.

that statement reminds me of someones not so long ago bongorob oh yeah and thanks for the info from whipsnade

No problem Bloodycurtus, when the new penguin enclosure was opened several years ago the main pool had a leak. The contractor was informed and in all seriousness replied it was because it had water in it. The matter was only resolved when legal action was threatened. The problem was the pool lining which was too thin.
