Hi thanks for the warm welcome
I have spent many long hours searching for Zoo's all over the world and with this site i am able to see fantastic pictures and hear people's opinions and actual accounts. I am so happy to have found this site

A bit about me :-
I live in beautiful North Wales and i am very fortunate to live 40 minutes from Welsh Mountain Zoo and 30 minutes from Chester Zoo. 3 months ago i gave my job up to start at Uni on a Animal studies course leading on to my final year in Zoology. Life has been a little hectic with the change but i have my fingers firmly crossed that one day i will work closely with animals.
My passion is chimpanzees and there are many zoo's and wildlife parks/Sanctuaries in the Uk that hope one day i will visit, the first being The Budongo Trail in Edinburgh zoo and i would also like to visit Monkey World Dorset and Wales Ape and Monkey rescue Swansea. Plus many many more.
My first major assignment for Uni is to design a animal enclosure and i have chosen the chimpanzees, since doing so i have spent a bit of time at Chester zoo taking note of the enclosure design and of the chimps activities within the design, and i have to say i think the design meets their requirments, the inside area could do with an update but i like the feeding from the roof, it encourages a hive of activity as soon as they hear the keepers climbing the steps to the roof. I have also visited the chimps at Welsh Mountain zoo and as much as i dont like the un natural blue wall and the 'Pit' feeling i do think that the zoo has done the best it possibly could with the small amount of money it has yearly and where the zoo is situated. They have a lovely outlook and can see for miles from their climbing aparatus. I am hoping with the pictures on here i can find many other ideas for climbing aparatus and enclosure design
Again thanks for the welcome
