Hello! Just a new member introduction from someone in Columbus, Ohio.
I recently returned to the area. I was born here and grew up going to the Columbus zoo nearly every weekend with my parents and grandparents until we moved away when I was still young.
I wish I could remeber those visits better, because according to my family, it was common in that time period -- early 1980s -- to encounter Jack Hanna around the zoo and so I met him multiple times.
My mom once told me that the monkeys (I believe) there seemed to be quite interested in me, the infant in her stroller!
I visited the zoo for the first time in close to three decades yesterday and the only thing I remembered was the large pond and its bridge which are near what is now an area with tables and umbrellas set up for dining.
